You are the most important person in your world!

I don't like to take the position of someone who is not prepared to support others. Whilst the phrase from the poem "no man is an Island" is a 'hackneyed' idea it should also be true. To achieve this outer self of generosity of spirit there needs to be a 'reservoir' to draw upon and to achieve this The sentiment – You are the most important person in your world must be considered. You may have religious beliefs or you may not, but without having the inner will to proceed based on your certainty of success your beliefs are of nothing. You may as well be an amoeba having no true identity simply the plasticity of one being moulded by external events.

The inner confidence could also be named as the old fashioned phrase of having "backbone" or being "stiff upper lipped" but does it matter what it is called as symbiotically the name is not as important as the semantics.

On a cold, grey rainy day this truth is tested under gloom of umbrella, sodden greyness so instead buy or make this important person a warm drink and then go out to help someone else with a warm grin.
