How to drive traffic - a guide for newbies

This is where you need to stop and think again.
You have just decided to start to market online and as part of your search you have begun to think that a bit of blogging will mean that wealth will follow.

• Search "internet marketing". Which 10 names are at the top of the google page.
• Search their websites. These show you the quality that you need to achieve.
• You now need to look at yourself. You will be marketing yourself first and your product second so who are you ?
• There are millions of online potential customers. You can't market to all of them with their range of interests and personalities so you may as well market to people like yourself.
• You need work out who your target customers are.
• Think about your life. Who do you like to spend time with. What kind of people are they.
• Think about previouse jobs. Write down work tasks you disliked and those you liked.
• Do an online personality test to find out who you are.
• Think about the answers over a few days and jot these down.
• Sorry about the hard work but by the end of this you will be able to work out which people are your target market - people just like you.
